Me

My name is Matt Tomlinson.  I am an industrial designer and creative thinker living and working in Birmingham.   I'm a motivated, passionate and driven designer with experience in both product and packaging design (both graphic and structural design).  A passion for drawing, designing and modelling from a young age, has continued to adult life. Creatively solving problems and using design thinking to help drive ideas through to implementation remains a key motivator.

Throughout my university and professional career I have developed a wide variety of skills including sketching, CAD, XR and storytelling. These skills have enabled me to become a versatile designer and problem solver, capable of using a variety of means to deliver results everytime.

Throughout my career I have developed and refined key personal skills that compliment my technical ability. At Mondelez I have demonstrated that I am adept at working either individually or as part of a team. As a strong leader, I have been chosen to lead a number of projects of varying complexity. The ability to manage multiple projects has greatly improved my organisational and time management skills and has given me the capacity to work well under pressure.

As a keen traveller, I am constantly exploring the world around me; whether it’s wandering the hidden corners of Birmingham or traversing the golden triangle. Until recently, I was a committed member of team GB’s fencing team; being proactive and focused are key drivers that are still important to me today. My passion for design extends beyond the workplace; I get a lot of inspiration from design shows and exhibitions, having recently visited the world expo in Dubai.
